At Betty McCaul Bridal Outlet we've been bringing you an amazing selection of discounted designer wedding dresses for nearly five years! Every dress in store is discounted, and available to buy "off the peg" on the day of your appointment. Dresses start from as little as £499, and are up to 65% off of retail price!
We are able to bring you these amazing deals by sourcing ex- sample and discontinued wedding dresses and bringing them directly to you. We personally hand pick each dress to make sure that it is in great condition, so that you can have an exquisite wedding dress at huge savings!
The dresses that you see in store are the actual wedding dresses that we have on sale! We don't need to order these in so they are ready to take away with you on the day of purchase. We aim to offer sample sale prices with a boutique experience!
In between our appointments we are pouring over the government guidelines and conducting risk assessments because, as ever, safety is our main priority. That doesn't mean we can't have an amazing, fun time finding your perfect dress - just that our appointments will look a little different for a while!
We'll be offering both Virtual Consultations and In Store Appointments.
A new addition to our "Bridal Menu" is a Virtual Consultation. This may be perfect for you if you are a bride who:
has already tried dresses, narrowed down what you're looking for and want to see if we have that in store
have a bit of a distance to travel to us and want to get a feel of the dresses we have in store before committing to that journey
want to get to know us or our stock a little better before committing to an in store appointment
Our Virtual Consultation can be done two ways; via a quick call on Zoom, Whatsapp Video or Facetime, or via a small set of questions on email. Whichever way you choose, it'll be a short discussion to find out more about you, your wedding, and what you're envisioning for your dress. It's ok if you don't have a set vision of this in your mind, if this is the case then we can then show you a range of styles and see what you're drawn towards.
Following our consultation, we'll personally pull a selection of dresses for you. You can browse the selection in the comfort of your home, with a glass of bubbly if you like!
IN STORE APPOINTMENTS
We can't wait to welcome you into our shop to find your perfect dress! With over 250 different styles to choose from, all discounted, and all immediately available- you've come to the right place! You'll be helped by either Amy or Bobbie, and can guarantee a friendly, relaxed experience.
Below is a lot of information, but it's everything you need to know about our in store appointments and how they're run to keep you safe during the pandemic.
Health and Safety
We will only be running one appointment at a time, so you and your guests will have the boutique to yourselves!
The boutique will be thoroughly deep cleaned before your arrival.
In line with Tier 2 guidance we welcome one guest to your appointment, but that guest must be from your household or support bubble. We regret that we can't accommodate buggies and children for the moment.
If you were planning on visiting us and are in a Tier 3 local lockdown then please get in touch to rearrange your appointment.
We will be asking you and your guest to have a temperature check on arrival - don't worry, it's a contactless thermometer and will be cleaned after every use. Staff will also be having their temperature checked.
We will be asking you and your guest to wear a mask and disposable gloves. Please arrive in your mask - we've seen some amazing Bride and Bride To Be designs on sites such as Etsy if you'd like to jazz them up! We'll supply the oh- so- glamorous disposable gloves!
We will be practising social distancing within the boutique. When we need to help you into or out of your dress we'll have you facing away from us, whilst we all rock our PPE, so there will be no close face to face contact.
Our bathroom will be closed due to lack of ventilation, so please bear this in mind!
Confirming Your Booking
We will be implementing a £10 charge for appointments. The £10 is redeemable against any dress purchase on the day. There are three main reasons for our appointment fee:
-our reduced appointment capacity due to thorough cleaning and social distancing -the increased costs due to PPE -it encourages our appointments to be filled by brides who are seriously looking for their dress, and brides to keep their appointments, therefore ensuring that even with our reduced capacity, we can help brides who really want to find their dress fall in love with the one!
Your appointment will be confirmed upon receipt of this.
Your appointment- the fun stuff!
You will be able to try up to six dresses during your appointment, as the government guidelines tell us that dresses need to be quarantined for 48 hours following an appointment.
You can pre-select two dresses to go into quarantine 48 hours before your appointment. You can send us an email with your ideas and we can send some options, or you can browse our social media and let us know if anything catches your eye.
Don't worry, you don't have to do this- you can browse the rails and select all six during your appointment if you prefer.
Accessories are still available to try on, so you can get the full bridal look with your choice of headpieces, veils and belts
We know there may be people whose opinion you value when searching for your dress but who cannot visit due to the restrictions, so you are free to take as many photos, videos and Skype/Facetime/Zoom during your appointment. We just suggest consulting them to ensure they're available for the appointment you choose, due to the reduced number of appointments available. We don't have any chargers in store so don't forget to charge your phone up beforehand!
WHEN SHOULD I VISIT?
We only have one of each design in stock, for this reason we strongly advise scheduling any other appointments at other stores you'd like to attend before you come and visit us. This puts you in an informed position to a make a decision on the dress during your appointment with us, rather than risking your favourite dress being sold whilst you attend other appointments.
ALTERATIONS AND SIZING
As many of our dresses are ex-samples, the most common sizes are 12 and 14. The dress sizes generally range from a UK 8 to a 16, however you should bear in mind that bridal sizing can come up quite small. A sample dress can comfortably be taken down a couple of sizes by a reliable bridal seamstress.
If you require a larger size please do get in touch, as although we don't stock these as regularly we may have some available. We are able to recommend independent seamstresses who can assist with your alterations, or you are welcome to make your own alterations arrangements. Please bear in mind that although we can offer great discounted prices on the dresses, we are unable to do anything about the pricing of alterations- so please do factor this into your budget!
PRICING AND PAYMENTS
The retail prices of our dresses range from £750 to around the £2500 mark, meaning the majority of our wedding dresses are from £499- £1000, with a few above and below this. We have a huge range of dresses to suit any budget! Our accessories are sold at full price, with a few exceptions, and we have a great range to complete any bridal look.
We understand that weddings are expensive, to help you spread the cost we accept deposits on dresses over £500. Once you have paid for your dress you take it home with you ready for alterations, as unfortunately we don't have storage on site.
